Method

The Bitcoin Impossible Transaction Museum is a permanent section, not a news cycle. The chain is seventeen years of immutable artifacts. We treat it as a primary source.

How a file is opened

  1. 1. The puzzle. A sentence that is true on the face of the transaction and sounds impossible.
  2. 2. The raw facts. Height, timestamp, txid when we have a complete one, input and output counts, contemporaneous BTC/USD, present-day equivalent.
  3. 3. The investigation. Wallet behaviour, miner identity, script templates, contemporaneous forums, the software that could have produced this exact shape.
  4. 4. The finding. Solved, probable, or unknown — and what is still open.

Confidence

  • Solved. Mechanism is reconstructed from the bytes plus independent contemporaneous sources. Motive may still be private.
  • Probable. The leading reconstruction fits the arithmetic and the software of the day. Another reading has not been ruled out.
  • Unknown. The chain proves that something happened. It does not yet prove why.

What we do not collect

Famous firsts already worn smooth — the pizza purchase, the first Hal Finney payment, the genesis headline as folklore. They are in every textbook. This hall is for forensic oddities: fee disasters, unspendable sinks, script bugs, decade-long silences, embeddings, and the rare consensus accident.

The scanner, later

The desk behind this catalog is a block walker: fee rate above the 99.99th percentile, extreme virtual size, UTXO age at spend, unusual scripts, enormous input or output counts, OP_RETURN payloads, outputs that are unspendable by construction. Instead of editors deciding what to investigate, the chain generates leads. The instrument in this preview runs those heuristics over the exhibits already accessioned. A node-backed crawler is the technical side project.

BitcoinBázis

This hall is designed as a standing section — 001, 002, 003… — not a series that expires. New files are added when the scanner, or a human, finds something the museum does not yet hold.
