<p>&nbsp;</p> <div id="dnf_class_values_job__job_desc__widget" class="field-widget field-widget-tinymce widget-readonly"> <p><strong>Since 1984, Galaxy Integrated Technologies has been designing and installing state-of-the-art security systems for a variety of commercial, government, education and health care properties across New England, New York, and New Jersey.<br><br>We are seeking an experienced Security Design Engineer that possesses hands-on experience installing and programming access control and CCTV systems, is comfortable working in the field, and knows how to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.</strong></p> <p><strong>Security Design Engineer</strong></p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Commercial Security Design Engineer to lead the design and specification of integrated electronic security systems for commercial, institutional, and critical infrastructure clients. In this role, you will be responsible for the full design lifecycle — from site assessment and concept development through final construction documentation — ensuring that every system we deliver meets the client's security objectives, applicable codes, and our quality standards.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>System Design &amp; Engineering</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design integrated security systems including access control, video surveillance (CCTV/IP), intrusion detection/alarm systems, and converged security platforms for commercial projects</li> <li>Develop complete design packages including system drawings, single-line diagrams, floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and written specifications</li> <li>Perform site surveys and security risk assessments to inform system design recommendations</li> <li>Select appropriate hardware, software, and infrastructure components based on project requirements, budget, and performance criteria</li> <li>Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, IT teams, and general contractors to ensure seamless integration into the broader building systems environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Project Support &amp; Client Engagement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in client discovery meetings to understand security requirements, operational workflows, and budget constraints</li> <li>Prepare and present design concepts and technical proposals to clients and stakeholders</li> <li>Provide technical clarification and respond to RFIs during the construction a
